Booking
How do I book a car?
Pick your dates on the homepage or in the catalog, choose a car you like, fill in your contact details and confirm the booking.
You will get an email confirmation within a few minutes. Payment happens at pickup — no online payment is required for now.
Can I modify my booking after it is confirmed?
Yes. You can change the dates, pickup address or contact details from your account dashboard up to 24 hours before pickup.
For changes closer to the pickup date, contact us directly — we will do our best to accommodate.
When will I get my booking confirmation?
Within a few minutes by email. If you do not see it in your inbox, please check the spam folder.
If 30 minutes have passed and there is still nothing, drop us a message at hello@yvncar.am and we will resend it.
Can I book a car for today?
Same-day booking is possible — just pick today as the pickup date on the homepage.
For deliveries to the airport or outside Yerevan we recommend booking at least 3 hours ahead so we have time to prepare the car.
Documents
What documents do I need to rent a car?
For pickup we will need:
- A valid passport (or a national ID for Armenian citizens)
- A driving licence
- A second contact phone number
For non-CIS tourists an International Driving Permit is also required.
Do you accept international driving licences?
Yes. For citizens of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan a national licence is enough thanks to bilateral agreements.
For other countries (EU, US, UK, Asia and so on) we ask for an International Driving Permit alongside your national licence.
What is the minimum driver age?
The minimum age is 21 years for all our cars.
For premium and sports models additional restrictions may apply — please check the car page for details.
What driving experience is required?
You need at least 2 years of driving experience from the date your licence was issued.
We may ask to see the original licence at pickup to verify the issue date.
Payment & Deposit
How do I pay for the booking?
For now payment happens at pickup — in cash or by card through our POS terminal.
Online payment (Idram, cards, Apple Pay) will be enabled in a few weeks. The deposit is collected at pickup the same way.
What currencies do you accept?
The main currency is Armenian dram (AMD). Cash payments are accepted in AMD, USD or EUR at the daily exchange rate published by the Central Bank of Armenia.
Card payments through the POS terminal go through in AMD regardless of your card currency.
How much is the deposit?
The standard refundable deposit is 50,000 AMD (about $130).
For premium and supercar models the deposit may be higher — the exact amount is shown on each car page before you confirm the booking.
When will I get my deposit back?
The deposit is returned right after we inspect the car at return and confirm there is no damage, no missing fuel and no outstanding traffic fines.
If everything is fine, you get the cash back on the spot. Card refunds (once online payment is enabled) usually arrive within 5–10 business days.
Pickup & Return
Where do I pick up the car?
The default pickup location is our office in central Yerevan — the exact address is shown in your booking confirmation.
We also offer free delivery within Yerevan and paid delivery to other cities or the airport — see the Delivery section below.
What time can I pick up and return the car?
Standard pickup is 10:00 and return is 18:00. These are also the default times pre-filled in the booking form.
For an earlier or later slot, just contact us — we usually accommodate any time between 09:00 and 20:00 at no extra charge.
What if I am late for pickup?
If you are running a bit late, just message us — we will wait, no problem.
If you do not show up or message us within 3 hours of the scheduled pickup, the booking is treated as a no-show.
What if I return the car late?
A grace period of 1 hour is included free of charge.
Beyond that we charge an hourly rate (1/8 of the daily price per hour, capped at a full extra day). Message us if you know you will be late and we will see what is possible.
Insurance & Liability
What does the insurance cover?
Every rental includes CASCO and third-party liability (OSAGO) insurance.
CASCO covers damage to the rental car itself in case of an accident; OSAGO covers damage to other vehicles, property or people. The deductible (your share if anything happens) is set per car and shown on the car page.
What should I do if I have an accident?
Stay calm and:
- Call the traffic police on 102 — a police report is required for the insurer
- Call us right away — we will guide you through the next steps
- Take photos of all vehicles, the scene and any damage
- Do not admit liability or sign anything in a language you do not understand
What happens if I get a traffic fine?
You are responsible for any traffic fines or toll charges issued during the rental.
If a fine arrives at our address after you have returned the car, we will forward it to you along with proof — and may charge a small administrative fee for the paperwork.
What if I damage someone else’s car or property?
Damage to other vehicles, property or people is covered by our OSAGO (third-party liability) insurance up to the legal limit in Armenia.
If you are at fault, you will need to cover the deductible plus any damage beyond the OSAGO limit. Call us right away — we will help coordinate with the insurer.
Delivery
Do you deliver the car to my hotel or address?
Yes. Delivery within Yerevan is free of charge.
Delivery to other cities or the airport is available for an extra fee — see the questions below for typical rates.
How much is delivery within Yerevan?
Delivery and return to any address within Yerevan are free — your hotel, apartment or office.
For deliveries outside business hours (before 09:00 or after 20:00) a small night surcharge may apply — we will always tell you in advance.
Can you deliver the car to Zvartnots airport?
Yes — airport delivery to Zvartnots (EVN) is 5,000 AMD each way.
The driver will meet you at the arrivals exit holding a sign with your name. Please share your flight number when you book so we can track delays.
Cancellation
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the pickup time.
Within 24 hours of pickup we keep a one-day fee to cover the lost slot. No cancellation fee applies for documented force-majeure (flight cancellation, illness with proof, weather closure).
How long does the refund take?
Cash refunds are immediate.
Once online payment is available (Idram, cards), refunds usually arrive within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
